Biblical Prosperity in Perspective 5

Understanding Why Money Comes, Part Two

by Pastor John Hamel

In part one of our study, “Understanding Why Money Comes,” we saw two of the three primary reasons why Jesus came and why money comes to obedient Believers.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10)   Money comes to invest heavily in seeking and saving the lost people of the world.

Jesus came to destroy the works of Satan. (1John 3:8)  Money comes to invest heavily into destroying the works of Satan in the lives of the world’s population.

Our Father wills that we put our money, tithes and offerings, where people are being set free from demons, lusts, sickness, habits and sins and taught about their authority in Christ.

In this, part two of our study, “Understanding Why Money Comes,” we will see the third reason why Jesus came into the Earth and why money comes into the hands of obedient Believers.

Jesus Christ Came to Prosper His Family Abundantly

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

These are the words of the God-Man, Jesus Christ.  Jesus always said what He meant, and meant what He said.  Jesus said that Satan, the thief, came to steal from the people of the world, to kill and to destroy them.  Jesus said that He, Himself, came that people might enjoy life and enjoy it abundantly.

Let’s get one thing straight.  Jesus is the Blesser.  Satan is the damner.

God is our Solution.  Satan is our problem.

God sent Jesus to get His children out of debt, poverty, stress and anger.  That is all poverty will do for anyone, make him or her angry.  Poverty is a terrarium where trouble and anger thrive like thistles and thorns.  Nothing good ever comes of poverty.  Nothing.  Sure, it can bring a degree of humility to the lives of some, but it does so destructively.  God does not use poverty to humble anyone.

Almighty God instructs His children to humble themselves, as a conscious act of their own free will.  If they will do so, He promises to exalt them. (1Peter 5:6)  God has never asked anyone to take a vow of poverty.  That would be to limit Himself through that person.  It is a fact that you will reach far more people with $4 million than you will with $4.  Poverty is a lie from Hell.  Everything about it reeks of stoppage and destruction.

Debt and poverty will turn a young man into an old man and kill him prematurely.  They are health stealers and cripplers.  They ruin marriages.  They run children away from Jesus and not to Him.  I am sorry to say that God has taken a bum rap for all the poverty that is in the Earth when Jesus said that His Father was not guilty of any of it.  He said, “Satan is the damner.  God is the Blesser.”

Anyone who gets their priorities straight, keeping in mind that money comes to seek and save the lost first, to destroy the works of the devil second, and to give them abundance of life third, is well on their way to a parade of financial miracles. God is the wealthiest, most successful individual in existence.  Through Christ Jesus we have been made His sons and daughters.  But not sons and daughters alone.  We are His heirs.

“But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the ADOPTION OF SONS.  And because YE ARE SONS, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  Wherefore THOU ART NO MORE A SERVANT BUT A SON, AND IF A SON, THEN AN HEIR OF GOD THROUGH CHRIST.” (Galatians 4:4-7)

The Bible clearly reveals that through Christ we become God’s children and heirs.  That is better than having a billionaire as your Father.  Everything that every billionaire possesses is on loan to him or her from Almighty God, your Father.  He alone owns all the silver and gold in the Earth.

“The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:8)

Our Heavenly Father wants to share His wealth with us, but only once we get our priorities straight.  Did we not see at the beginning of this study that the Lord “…hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant”? (Psalm 35:27)  Well, if He wants His servants to prosper, how much more does He want His sons and daughters to prosper?  We are more than servants.  We are His children.  Fathers do more, much more, for their children than they do for their servants.

We are children of God and we are heirs of God through Christ.  However, we are not only heirs of God, we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Romans 8:17)

I will have something to say about the suffering part at the end of this lesson.  Right now I want to say a word about “joint-heirs with Jesus.”  Think about it.  Everything God owns, Jesus owns.  Everything Jesus owns, His brothers and sisters own.  That is what a joint-heir is.  A joint-heir is a “participant in common.”  This means that what Jesus owns is not half His and half ours.  It means that we all participate in the common wealth.  It means that what Jesus owns is all His and all ours.  Get a hold of that by meditating on it a little bit and it will change your life.

It is so obvious from these verses of Scripture that God’s will is prosperity and not poverty.  It is difficult to see how anyone could ever believe that God would want him or her to take a vow of poverty or go without for any reason.

Recall that I told you at the beginning of this prosperity series how I bowed my head at my desk and asked the Lord, “Lord, why do so many people reject the prosperity principles of Your Word?”  I told you then, before I could even finish my question, the Lord’s answer literally shot up out of my spirit.  He replied, “Ignorance.”  Ignorance does not mean “to be stupid.”  Ignorance means “to lack knowledge and to be unaware.”

You are being equipped with knowledge in this Biblical Prosperity in Perspective series.  Religious ideas and wrong traditional assumptions about God’s will and Biblical prosperity are being torn down and destroyed.  This is what God wills for you.  He wants you to believe His Word concerning prosperity, not wrong religious and traditional thinking.  He wants you to take His Word and tear down all wrong thinking that has been imposed upon you.  This can only be done through exposure to His Word, such as you are experiencing in these lessons.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2Corinthians 10:5)

You have a right and an obligation to cast down wrong teaching concerning Biblical prosperity.  God commands you to cast down all wrong, poverty-based teaching that has exalted itself against the knowledge of His Word.  God commands you to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, your Joint-Heir and big Brother.

You also have a right and an obligation to command that money come to you to seek and save the lost, to destroy the works of the devil and to cause you personally to prosper.  You have a right and an obligation to commission the Angels of God to go forth and fix your finances, causing money to come to you.

“Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” (Psalm 103:20)

As a Believer, you must give voice to the Word of God in the Earth, telling the Angels of God, respectfully, to “Go and cause prosperity to come.  In Jesus’ Name.”  They will obey, as long as you are living right.

It is God’s will for all of His children to prosper.  However, all of His children are not prospering because they are not meeting the conditions.  They do not see the importance of meeting the conditions to which Jesus referred in the Great Commission. (Mark 16:15-20)

Meet the conditions.  Make a decision to use your prosperity to seek and save the lost first and to destroy the works of Satan second.

Last but not least, make up your mind to allow God to give you a life of abundance.  If you will do so, Biblical prosperity will literally hunt you down.

I told you earlier that I would have a word on suffering with Christ at the end of this lesson.

There is a right way and a wrong way to suffer with Christ.

You will be greatly blessed to read both “Suffering & the Will of God 1.  The Wrong Way to Suffer” and “Suffering & the Will of God 2.  The Right Way to Suffer.”

There you will find that although it may be God’s will for you to suffer with Christ through persecution, it is never His will for you to suffer with Christ in poverty.

In our next lesson we will see how to start the Biblical prosperity process.

Be blessed … John and Barbara Hamel
