Biblical Prosperity in Perspective 11

Developing the Capacity to Prosper, Part Four

by Pastor John Hamel

We are studying the subject of Biblical prosperity.  We are seeing that Almighty God will allow us to be tested and proven in the realm of finances for our own growth and benefit.

Jesus said that only once we have been proven to be faithful in little things would He put us in charge of bigger things.

We saw how Israel blew great wealth because they were so accustomed to living in poverty and they had no true understanding of what it means to be in Covenant with God.  As soon as Moses, their financial overseer, was off the scene, they went berserk with all that money.

We also saw how the Prodigal Son blew his entire inheritance because he did not understand the true meaning of sonship.  He also had no idea that there was a difference between being covetous and being in Covenant with the Father.

Presently there are more than 3 billion people living on Planet Earth who never heard the Name of Jesus.  Some people do not believe that is possible.  Well, it is not only possible, it is true.

There are Native Americans living on reservations in the United States of America who have never in their lives seen one single white man.  Many of them have never, ever heard of Jesus, either.  So there is much work to be done and it is going to take tremendous wealth to do it.

Possibly you began to receive revelation of Biblical prosperity at one point in your life.  You began to tap into God’s wealth and suddenly forgot where it came from.  You stumbled and fell like the Prodigal Son.  You blew your inheritance because you did not understand the true meaning of sonship.  You did not know the difference between being covetous and being in Covenant with the Father.

You need to understand that God is willing to forgive you, even as the Prodigal Son’s Father forgave and restored him.  God will forgive and restore you for His own sake, not just yours.  You will find that in Isaiah 43:25.  He will forgive and restore you for His sake because there are more than 3 billion people on the Earth who have never heard of Jesus and He wants them all.

By clicking on “Great Spiritual Awakening Comes to America & the Worldl” you can read how the Lord personally told me, in a vision, that it is His will to save every lost human being in the world.  He said to me, "I want them all."

This is why my wife and I are continually developing the capacity to prosper.  This is why we are faithful in little things.  This is why we pay tithes and offerings on every single penny that comes in our direction.  This is why we resist the spirit of covetousness and throw ourselves on our Covenant with the Greater One, Almighty God, our Father.  This is why God’s will is more important to us than our will.

Patience, character and integrity must be developed in order to be trusted with the kind of wealth that we are studying in this series.  So we are going to continue talking about developing the capacity to prosper in this lesson, but from a slightly different angle.  We are going to focus on several ingredients that must be added to faith in order to prosper supernaturally.

Some Believers have attempted to prosper beyond their present capacity and ended up stumbling and quitting.  We do not want to see this happen to you.  So look with me in this lesson at some key factors in the development of faith for Biblical prosperity in perspective.

You Have Enough Faith to Pull in Supernatural Prosperity

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as GOD HAS DEALT TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.” (Romans 12:3)

Notice the Apostle said that God gives to every one “the” measure of faith, not “a” measure of faith.  Everybody starts out with the same measure of faith and it is more than enough to get the job done.  You just have to learn how to develop it and use it.

Jesus said, “…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain [problem], Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matthew 17:20)

Did you notice here that Jesus did not say, “If you have monstrous faith, as big as a mountain, you shall move this little mustard seed”?  No, He said, “Faith the size of a mustard seed will move a problem as big as a mountain.”  It only takes a little faith to move a big problem, but that faith must be highly developed.

Faith must be developed in the same way that muscles must be developed if one expects to carry a big load.  The only way that “the” measure of faith can be developed is by hearing faith teaching over and over, such as you are doing in this series. (Romans 10:17)  The more one hears the word of faith, the more “the” measure of faith is developed.

Some people hear seven messages on prosperity, run out and attempt to do financial exploits that are way over their head.  They fail because “the” measure of faith was not yet developed enough.  Instead of blaming themselves, their immaturity and their impatience, they attack the message and the messengers of Biblical prosperity.  Bad move!

It is vitally important, when it comes to supernatural Biblical prosperity, to stick around long enough to discover that there are several ingredients that need to be added to “the” measure of faith in order to be successful.  Notice I said these ingredients need to be ADDED to “the” measure of faith.

Anyone who has been around long enough to attend elementary school knows that addition comes long before multiplication.  Children learn to add before they are trusted with the principles of multiplication.

Anyone who believes they can multiply without bothering to first learn the principles of addition is deceived.  The principles of multiplication are based upon the principles of addition.  This principle is true in the spirit realm as well.  First, addition.  Then and only then, multiplication.

Therefore, in our next lesson, we will learn how we can add to “the” measure of faith in order to soon multiply supernatural wealth.

Be blessed … John and Barbara Hamel
