Jesus, the Absolute Truth
Period. Full Stop.

by Pastor John Hamel

“Jesus said… I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6)

Notice that Jesus did not claim to be one of many truths. He said He is THE Truth. Period.

He did not claim to be one of many ways to God. He said He is the ONLY Way to God. Period. No hemming, no hawing, no foot shuffling, no soft-soaping.

Just the facts.

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” Can you handle it? Some can’t.

Many liberal-minded people are heard to say, “Truth? Don’t be ridiculous. There is no absolute truth. There is no such thing as black and white. Whatever will be, will be, and there’s not a thing in the world anyone can do to alter their fate or destiny!”

“Oh yeah?” I responded to one of them, “Then why don’t you get up on the freeway, put your car on cruise control and close your eyes? Whatever will be, will be. I’ll tell you why you don’t. It’s because you do believe in absolutes. You do believe in black and white. Driving with your eyes closed will absolutely kill you!”

People “choose” to deny the reality of “absolutes” and “black and white” because they don’t want to accept responsibility for their sinful lifestyles. They don’t want to believe that there is such a thing as “accountability.” They love darkness more than they love the light and set up make-believe standards of measure to accommodate their sinfulness. (John 3:19)

This, however, does not change the Truth of God’s Word and the Truth of Jesus Christ.

Jesus not only is the Truth, He always spoke the Truth. Jesus told the Truth about human beings. He said that man was full of sinful behavior such as pride, foolishness, sexual sin and base wickedness. (Mark 7:21-27)

This is why He’s never even made the runner-up list for Time Magazine’s Man of the Year! Jesus offends people deeply!

Jesus told the Truth about man’s need to ask God for forgiveness for his sinful behavior. “I tell you, Nay: except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)

Someone said, “That’s ridiculous. I can’t change and just start suddenly living for God.”

You’re not supposed to change. You’re supposed to show up before God asking for forgiveness. Once you do that, He’ll start working the changes in you.

Trying to change yourself before coming to God is like trying to clean a fish before you catch it. It isn’t going to happen. (Ezekiel 36:25,26)

Jesus told the Truth about His Father’s love. As a matter of fact, His final prayer was that God would show all the peoples of the world that He loved them AS MUCH AS HE LOVES JESUS! (John 17:23)

That’s some kind of love. Particularly if you’ve been believing that God is mad at you! If you live in the world, God loves you. (John 3:16)

Jesus told the Truth about man’s need to be supernaturally converted from his sinful nature to God’s sinless nature. (Matthew 18:3; 2Corinthians 5:17,21)

Simply say, “Jesus, You’re my choice” and this supernatural process goes into operation. (Romans 10:13; John 1:12)

Finally, Jesus told the Truth about coming Judgment.

One day the graves will open and the “righteous” in Him will come forth to the Judgment of Reward

His “unrighteous” rejecters will come forth to the Judgment of Damnation. (John 5:28,29) Plain and simple.

So simple, in fact, that even I can understand it.

JESUS! He spoke simple, absolute truth more profound than anything you’ll ever find in Religion, History, Mathematics or Science.

Question is ...

Can you handle it?  I believe you can.

Absolutely.
