Dear New Believer in Jesus Christ,

John Hamel Ministries welcomes you to your new life in the Kingdom of God.

When welcoming someone into the Kingdom, we like to leave them with foundational information to make their walk with the Lord more powerful and productive.  We are glad to place into your hands this short, yet powerful study that will cause you to grow in your journey of faith more effectively.

Holding fast to the eight keys presented here will change your life forever.

1. Be Faithful in Church Attendance

"Do not avoid worshiping together as some do, but spur each other on especially as you see the Day of the Lord approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)

Now that you are Born Again you will want to connect with a local Church. We are sure you will find a good Bible-teaching Church in your community. You  may also visit the JHM Tuition-Free Online Bible Training Centre where you will find excellent teaching that will supplement your spiritual growth, increase your knowledge of Scripture and strengthen your relationship with God.

It is important in this present world for believers in Jesus Christ to stick together and to encourage one another.  This is why the Bible says we must never neglect faithful Church attendance.  The first banana to leave the bunch is always the first banana to be peeled.  Do not let this happen to you!

2. Receive the Holy Spirit Baptism

Jesus said, "What you'll get is the Holy Spirit and power.  When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be able to be My witnesses, in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world." (Acts 1:8)

Once you become a believer in Jesus Christ, you are cleansed by His Blood.  This enables you to become a fit dwelling place for the Person of the Holy Spirit. As a Believer, when He comes to live in you, you become a vessel of His power.  He enables you to live victoriously and to minister Jesus Christ to others effectively.  Ask the Father to fill you with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by the speaking in other Tongues, in Jesus' Name.  When looking for a local Church, be sure to find one that believes in the Holy Spirit Baptism and the Gifts of the Spirit.

3. Be Baptized in Water

"This is what happens in Water Baptism. When we go under the water, we leave the old country of sin behind; when we come up out of the water, we enter into the New Country of Grace - a new life in a new land.  When we are lowered into the water, it's like Jesus' burial.  When we are raised up out of the water, it's like Jesus' resurrection." (Romans 6:3-4)

Water Baptism does not wash your sins away.  The Blood of Jesus did that the moment  you were saved.  Being baptized in water is identifying with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  It is a powerful outward expression of a powerful inward experience.  Ask your Pastor about being water baptized.

4. Pray to Your Heavenly Father in Jesus' Name

Jesus said, "Ask the Father in My Name, according to My will and He'll most certainly give it to you.  Your joy will be like a river overflowing its banks." (John 16:23)

God, your Heavenly Father, desires to take care of you.  Ask Him, in Jesus' Name, to meet your needs and the needs of others.  Pray for others to be saved in the world, in your community and in your family.  Pray especially for peace in Israel and Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6-9)

5. Read and Study Your Bible

"Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can still be sure it's written for us. God wants His Word to keep us alert for whatever He'll do next." (Romans 15:4)

"By Your words I can see where I am going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path." (Psalm 119:105)

It's impossible to walk with God apart from knowledge of the Bible. The Bible teaches us God's will and His plan for our lives. JHM places a strong emphasis on knowing God's Word and learning how to be led by His Spirit.  Find a Church that does the same.

6. Tell Others about Jesus Christ

Jesus said, "Go into all the world. Go everywhere and announce the message of God's Good News to one and all ... and the disciples went everywhere preaching, the Master working right with them, validating the message with indisputable evidence and miracles." (Mark 16:15,20)

All Christians are called to be soulwinners. Ask the Father to show you who to share Jesus with. Ask Him to give you boldness to do so. Unless someone tells others about Jesus, like someone told you about Jesus, people cannot be saved.

The JHM Online Bible Training Centre can help you to become a powerful witness for Jesus Christ.  Ask your Pastor about Church evangelism programs for you to be involved in.

7. Give Your Tithes and Offerings as an Act of Worship

"Bring your full tithe to the Temple (Church) treasury so there will be ample provision in My Temple (Church).  Test Me in this and see if I don't open up Heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams." (Malachi 3:10)

The Gospel is free but it takes much money to operate a local Church. Your tithes make it possible for your Pastor to fulfill the vision God has given him. Do not pay your tithes to John Hamel Ministries if you have a Pastor.  Your tithe belongs to your Pastor.  However, if you do not have a Pastor at this time, you may pay your tithes to JHM until you locate where God wants you to attend Church services.

Offerings are over and above the tithe. The Holy Spirit will show you where to give your offerings.  John Hamel Ministries needs your support in order that we may continue to reach the nations of the world, but you must be led by the Holy Spirit as to where you should give financial offerings and support.

Giving faithfully is not only the first step into God's promise of prosperity for you, it is also an act of worship.  The Bible says, "The tithe is holy and it is the Lord's." (Leviticus 27:30)

The Bible says you will reap what you sow. (Galatians 6:7)

8. Freely Receive God's Forgiveness when You Stumble

"If we admit our sins - make a clean breast of them - He won't let us down; He'll be true to Himself. He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing." (1 John 1:9)

Just because God has saved you in Christ does not mean you cease to be a human being. As we grow in the knowledge of God's Word we will occasionally make mistakes and sin against Him. When this occurs do not despair. Go immediately to the Father and ask for His forgiveness in Jesus' Name.  The Bible says He will forgive you, cleanse you and allow you to keep walking with Him. God will forgive as often as we will ask.  This, of course, is not a license to sin but it is a license to repent and to receive forgiveness when you stumble.

JHM's Prayer for You: "Father, in Jesus' Name, we pray for each person who reads this article "Now That You Are Saved."  We ask that they would be filled with the knowledge of Your will for their lives, and that they would walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all they set their hand to, in Jesus' Strong Name."  JHM
