Don't
Believe Jesus Is Lord?
I Hope You’re
Right. I Really Do.

“Jesus saith unto
him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.” (John 14:6)
One day I was in a television studio
preparing a broadcast for airing. A man,
who I had seen only in passing a time or two, barged into the editing room
and exploded at me. He began
ranting, “You Christians think you’re right about
everything. You just start preaching Jesus at people with no respect for
their privacy.” I stood there
thinking, “Isn’t that what you’re doing to me?”
He continued with his angry outburst.
“There’s more than one way to God.
You have no right telling people there’s only one way to God. Jesus is not the only way to God. He is not
the only way to God.”
“I hope you’re right,” I said as he paused
for breath. I stood to my feet and
looked him right in the eye as I repeated, “I hope you’re right. I really
do.”
He stood there stunned and momentarily
speechless. “What do you mean?” he finally sputtered. “Why would you hope
I’m right when you believe Jesus is the only way to God and I don’t?” He was alarmed and looking at me like a
deer caught in the night’s headlights.
“I’ll explain,” I offered. “If you are right and there are other
ways to God besides Jesus then everyone is going to Heaven, including me.
You have nothing to lose and I have nothing to lose. In essence, we’re both right and neither
one of us has anything to worry about.”
I calmly continued as he stood staring at
me. “On the other hand, Jesus said
He IS the only way to God. I believe Him. You don’t. If you’re wrong and I’m right, you’re
going to Hell on a greased pole. You and everyone else who believes the
way you do. That’s why I said that I
hope you’re right even though I know you’re not. Now you’ve got something to think about.”
That man didn’t speak another word to
me. He turned and walked out of the
editing room in silence. I returned
to my editing task.
Do you believe that there are other ways to
God besides Jesus? If you do, you’re
calling Jesus a liar or a lunatic.
He said He IS the only way, He IS the only Door into God’s Kingdom.
Mohammed, the founder of the
Islam faith, made the same mistake as the man who barged into
the TV studio that day. He wrote
that Jesus was a good man, a good teacher and a good Prophet but He is NOT
the only way to God.
Now that’s the
biggest blunder I’ve heard in all my life.
Mohammed called Jesus a good man, a good teacher and a good Prophet
only to turn around and call Him a liar and a lunatic
as well.
Reader, you’re smart enough to know that
good men, good teachers and good Prophets cannot also be liars and lunatics.
How about you?
Do you believe Jesus is the only way to
God as He so boldly stated? Or do
you believe He lied and there are other ways to God
as well?
If you believe there are
other ways, I hope you’re right.
Because then no one is going to face Eternal punishment in the
Lake of Fire.
(Revelation 20:11-15)
On the other hand, if I’m right when I
preach Jesus is the only way to God and you’re
wrong, well … you’ve got something to think about, too!
Say, “Jesus, You’re my one and only
choice” if you believe what Jesus said.
