the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord.” (1Thessalonians ,17)
All the Bible indicators point to this
Jesus is coming to lead His Holy Army in a Battle called
“Armageddon.” As a result of this battle, His enemies will be
ultimately defeated and Satan and demon spirits will be locked away forever
in a placed called “The Lake of Fire.”
(Zechariah 14:1-21; Revelation 20:7-15)
However, one very significant event must
occur before Jesus returns to planet Earth. That event is commonly
referred to as “the Rapture” amongst Christian people.
actual word “Rapture” is not in the Bible, the event certainly is.
The Bible refers to it as “The Blessed Hope.” (Titus 2:13)
The opening Scripture text above describes the “Rapture” clearly.
During the Rapture, Jesus will not actually
return and place His feet on the Earth as He will later at His Second Coming. (Zechariah 14:4)
At the time of the
Rapture, Jesus will appear in the clouds above the Earth, as you have
At that time, those who went to their graves believing in Jesus
as their Savior will be literally raised up to
join Him in the air above the Earth. Graves
will literally open as untold millions, possibly billions, are “shuttled” up
to Jesus supernaturally.
Within seconds of that first shuttling,
those Believers who are alive will also be “caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” What an historical
and frightening event for those who will witness it and not participate in
it. (John 5:22-30)
Think about it - airplanes suddenly
missing pilots who were Christian, automobiles
with Believers behind the wheel suddenly driverless. Believing
doctors taken up in the middle of surgeries and vice versa. Missing
family, friends, neighbors and the like.
The impact of the Rapture will be
tremendous and undeniably supernatural. It simply cannot be described
in this small Gospel message.
Where will you stand at that moment in
Will you ride the Lord’s “Free Shuttle Flight” to the
Or will you remain behind as the spirit of the Anti-Christ
takes over control of the world for the next seven punishing years? (Daniel
9:27; Mark 13:14; Revelation 7:13,14) This will be a time of great
fear and suffering that can easily be avoided right now.
My prayer for you is that when this
promised event occurs, you’ll be looking down experiencing it as opposed to
looking up and regretting it.
“I call heaven and earth to record
this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing
and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may live.” (Deuteronomy
