Jesus and You
Masters of Demon
Powers
by Pastor John
Hamel
“…straightway on the
Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and …taught them as one that had
authority, …And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit;
and he cried out, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou
Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I
know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. Jesus rebuked him,
saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. When the unclean spirit
had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, HE CAME OUT OF HIM.” (Mark
1:21-26)
What I am about to share
with you makes some people angry, very angry. It made people angry in
Jesus’ day, too. However, truth is truth
and it doesn’t come in varying shades of gray. Truth only comes in
black and white. So, here is the black and white of it.
There are
millions of people worldwide attending Church on a regular basis who are
under the control of demon spirits. Whenever someone
with God’s power on their life comes around
speaking Truth from God’s Word, they squirm, becoming very agitated and
disagreeable. This is what happened when Jesus showed up in the
Synagogue. The demons in that man recognized the power of God on His
life and were immediately agitated. They began to cry out and to
complain about Him.
People still do this today. They
don’t want to be disturbed by God’s power in their sedate little
congregations. They don't want to be disturbed by God's Word in
their sedate little lifestyles. They don’t want to hear Truth
because they don’t want to change. If the Pastor dared to preach or teach the
whole counsel of God, including repentance for alcohol and
prescription drug abuse, R-rated movies, rag mags,
gossiping, lying, immorality, stinginess, not paying tithes
and offerings, selfishness, divorce and pride, he would be “cast
out,” not the devil!
However, this doesn’t
change the fact that all who want to be free from demonic control can be
free. Demons still tremble whenever someone takes hold of God’s Word
and makes the decision to be free of them, once and for all! They
are, after all, defeated foes and it is quite easy to be rid
of them.
“And having spoiled
[demonic] principalities and powers, he [Jesus] made a shew
of them openly, triumphing over them.”
(Colossians 2:15)
Not only has Jesus defeated demonic principalities and powers,
including Satan himself, He’s delegated power
over them to His true followers!
“Behold, I give unto YOU
power to tread on serpents and scorpions [Satan
and demons], and over all the power of the enemy: nothing shall by any
means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that THE SPIRITS ARE
SUBJECT UNTO YOU; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in
heaven.” (Luke 10:19-20)
These evil spirits are
subject to ALL Believers in Christ, not just Pastors and Evangelists. This means if
you’ve made Jesus your Lord and Master by simply saying, “Jesus, You’re my choice” that you’re now Master of all
demon powers as well. When you speak to them, demon spirits have no choice
but to obey you. (Mark 16:15-20; James 4:7) They fully realize if
they don’t, they’ll answer directly to Jesus. (Matthew 18:18) They’d
much rather obey you.
This means if you’ve
been a member of a certain “Denomination” who has continued to condone sin
and compromise, you can be free. If you personally have been bound by
or condoning sin and compromise, you can be free. If Satan has been controlling your tongue, your mind, your
emotions or your body, you can be free.
There are only three
powers in the Universe. The good power of God. The evil power
of Satan. The neutral power of Man.
When man isn’t yielding to God, he’s yielding to Satan. Period.
Jesus said, "If you're not for me, you're against me." That
means, if you're not obeying Him in
every realm of your existence, you're obeying Satan and you need to be set
free.
Sound like you or
someone you love? Well, I have Good News! God’s not mad at you or your loved ones either.
Anyone can be free of gossip, immorality, lying, greed, cruelty,
selfishness, prejudice, etc. Even physical sickness and disease must bow its knee
to the Name of Jesus.
If you’ve not asked
Jesus to be your Savior, pray, “Jesus, I choose You as my Master, Savior
& Deliverer. Satan, I renounce every sin and compromise. I
cast you out in Jesus’ Name. As of today I change allegiance from you
to Jesus. I call myself free, in Jesus’ Powerful Name.” (Romans
10:13) You’ll be amazed as you now seek the forgiveness of those
you’ve wronged how things will stop happening TO you and start happening
FOR you.
Or you may pray for that
loved one who's oppressed, seeing them set free supernaturally. Just
address those spirits by saying, "Rulers of the darkness of this
present evil world, demonic principalities and powers, I bind you from
(name)'s life and mind. Loose them in Jesus' Name." (Ephesians
6:12; James 4:7)
Expect results and you,
too, will be amazed at the turn around as you refuse to let Satan have your
loved ones. Stand your ground. Keep telling Satan, "I call
(name) free in Jesus' Name. I'll not take NO for an
answer from you." Once you let Satan know that you're not
backing off, no matter how long it takes, he'll go find someone less
persistent.
It's simply unscriptural
and wrong for Christians to believe that only Ministers have authority over
Satan and demon powers. You won't find that in the Bible. If
it's not in the Bible, you shouldn't subscribe to it. Jesus is Master
over all demon powers. Jesus lives in you. Therefore, you are
master over Satan and demon powers. That's why the Bible says...
"... AS HE IS SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD."
(1 John 4:17)
Because Jesus is Master
over demon powers, YOU are Master over demon powers. They might kick
and scream a little when you tell them to go. They're just trying you
on for size. Just let them know who's
boss. They'll go. Jesus said they would. He'll back you
up from Heaven just like the Law backs up Police
Officers on Earth.
"Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind
on earth shall be bound [backed up] in heaven ..." (Matthew 18:18)
Don't doubt it and live
without it. Believe it and receive it! Be blessed as you walk out your authority in Christ.
Be Blessed ... John and
