Do You Have What Mary Has?
She Said You Should
by Pastor John Hamel
“…there was a
marriage in Cana …the mother of Jesus was
there: …Jesus was called, and his disciples … the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. … His mother saith unto the servants, WHATSOEVER HE SAITH UNTO YOU, DO IT. … Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. …the water…was
made wine.” (John 2:1-9)
There is an
experience of Power that God
promises to all of His children. Notice I said He promises it to all
of His “children.” Jesus said the only way to become a child of God
is to be “Born Again.” (John 3:3)
I’ll explain. You were birthed the first time into this
physical world through the person of your Mother. You are birthed the
second time or “Born Again” into the Family of God through acceptance of
Jesus as your Savior. That’s why the experience is also called “The
New Birth.”
You open your mouth
and say, “Jesus, You’re my choice” and you instantly
and effortlessly become a child of God. (John 1:12; Romans 10:13) You are birthed into His Kingdom.
Simple stuff!
Now, on to the
promised experience of Power for His Children.
“But ye shall
receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you …” (Acts 1:8)
These are the words
of Jesus. He spoke them to His followers
just moments before being taken back to Heaven.
His disciples then returned to Jerusalem and
gathered in what is now referred to historically as “The Upper Room.”
There were about 120 people in that room. (Acts 1:15) Some of
their names are actually given as follows.
“… they went up
into an upper room, where abode Peter, James, John, Andrew, Philip, Thomas,
Bartholomew, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon Zelotes and Judas the brother of James …and
MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS...” (Acts 1:13,14)
Did you notice who
was there with St. Peter, St. James, St. John, St. Andrew, St.
Philip, St. Thomas, St. Bartholomew,
St. Matthew, St. James, St. Simon and St. Judas? Mary, the Born Again Blessed Mother of our Lord
was there as well! Look at what happened next!
“And when the day
of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place …
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other
tongues…” (Acts 2:1-4)
This is the
absolute last time we ever see or hear from the Blessed Mother and what was
she doing? She was receiving Holy Spirit Power and speaking in tongues with all the other
“Saints.” This experience of Power couldn’t possibly be for “the 12
disciples only” as some argue. Mary was not one of the Twelve!
There were 108 other Believers there as well. There goes that old
argument! Jesus said Holy Spirit Power is for ALL who believe.
“… Jesus stood …
saying …HE THAT BELIEVETH on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake
he of the Spirit, which THEY THAT BELIEVE on him should receive…)” (John 7:37-39)
This experience is
for all WHO BELIEVE in Jesus. Mary received it with everyone else
that day. St. Peter and St. Paul shared it with
others. (Acts 10:1-43; 19:1-7) As an obedient Born
Again Catholic, I’ve received this experience of power as have thousands of
Priests, Monks and Nuns the world over. I understand that Pope John
Paul II who went to Heaven in 2005 also had it. No doubt, he, too,
adhered to Mary’s command in our opening text, “WHATSOEVER HE [JESUS]
SAITH UNTO YOU, DO IT.”
All one must do to
have what Mary has is to be “Born Again” as Mary was. I’ve shown you
how to do that. Then pray, “Father, please fill me with Holy Spirit
Power, in Jesus’ Name.”
He will. You’ll speak in tongues like Mary did. (Luke 11:13)
Be sure to
disconnect from horoscopes, Tarot cards, palm reading, unforgiveness, worship of statues,
etc. These all grieve the Holy Spirit. (1Thessalonians 5:19)
Pray “in the
Spirit” daily. Mary did. This is a “Hotline to Heaven.”
It’s praying “according to God’s Will” and builds confidence. (Romans
8:26-28; Jude 20)
The Holy Spirit
Baptism – Jesus’ Mother Mary has it. Do you? She said you should.
Be Blessed ... John
