Two Steps to Miracle Power

It's Easier Than You Think

by Pastor John Hamel

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? … Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  … For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:14,26)

Unleashing faith for a miracle is so simple that sometimes people miss it.  I want to tell you how to have faith in Jesus for your miracle.  Jesus has a miracle for you today, if you will believe that Jesus has a miracle for you today!

If you are unable to receive from Jesus today, keep coming back to this JHM Online Bible Training Centre and listen to what we are teaching.  Faith will rise in your heart and you will receive.  Tell your family about it.  Tell your friends about it.  When you direct people that you love to God’s Word, you are showing God that you really want to believe Him.

Our text Scripture says, “Faith without works is dead.”  That means very simply that if you really believe what God says is true, you will act like it is true.

When we do not act like it is true, it is because we do not believe it is true.  That is when faith dies.  I am going to pray for you at the end of this study.  When I do, if you really believe that God heard that prayer, you will do two things.

First, you will begin to rejoice in your heart that He did indeed hear our prayer.

Second, you will act like God has heard our prayer, even if circumstances make it difficult to do so.

That is faith!  It is that simple.

First, rejoice.  Second, act like it is true.  Then you will see the power begin to flow.

A Cripple Man Was Once Brought to Jesus

“And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.  And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.  And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.  And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.  But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

"And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?  Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, ARISE, AND TAKE UP THY BED, AND GO THY WAY into thine house.  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.” (Mark 2:1-12)

Jesus offered the man forgiveness for sins first, just like He is offering you forgiveness today.  Then He told the man to do what he could not do.  He told him to get up and walk.

The man did not complain that he was crippled.  He obeyed Jesus and got up to walk.  The end result was he went his way rejoicing.

Jesus is here today and He wants to help you as well.

Peter & John Prayed for Another Crippled Man

They were on their way to the Temple to pray and saw a crippled beggar.

“...Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And HE LEAPING UP STOOD, AND WALKED, and entered with them into the temple, WALKING ... LEAPING, AND PRAISING GOD.” (Acts3:4-8)

It took faith for this man to rise up and walk.  He could have sat there and argued about how long he had been crippled.  Rather, he chose to obey Peter, acting out his faith.  He ended up jumping and dancing and praising God for His mercy.

Why don’t you rejoice that God is here today doing what only He can do.  There is a visitation of God present wherever you are today.  These true accounts are written in the Bible to help you to act your faith.  I know how hard that can seem to be.  I have had to receive healings by faith.  That’s what qualifies me to teach you.

But if you will show Jesus that you believe what you’re reading here today, you will receive.  Say, “O, God, I believe Your Word.  I believe Jesus is Your Son.  Help me.”

Two Blind Men Received a Miracle from Jesus by Faith

“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH BE IT UNTO YOU. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.” (Matthew 9:27-30)

These men purposely activated the law of faith.  They didn’t sit around waiting for God to come to them.  They didn’t say, “How can we find Him?  We’re blind.”  No, sir.  They went out, arm in arm, searching for Jesus using what limited senses they had.  They found Him, too, and He was pretty impressed by their act of “blind” faith.

What He was really saying to these men is as follows.  “First, rejoice because this is your day for a miracle.  Second, act like you believe it’s true.  Use your eyes and expect to see something.”  That’s exactly what they did.  They unleashed expectation and received their miracle.

You can do what these men did.  You can do what any of these people in the Bible did.  Rejoice because God is where you are today.  Rejoice because His Word is true.  Rejoice because He would never lie to you.

Right now, do something you could not do and show God that you believe.

Jesus Helped Another Man Receive a Miracle

Jesus was standing up teaching one day, just like I am teaching you now.  He looked out into the crowd and saw a man with a withered hand.  His Father’s love flowed through Him for that man.  The Bible says …

“And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And HE DID SO: AND HIS HAND WAS RESTORED whole as the other.” (Luke 6:10)

This man did not say, “Jesus, are you stupid or are you blind?  You can see that my hand is withered and I can’t stretch it forth.”

No, he rejoiced that Jesus singled him out, having seen his need.  He did what he could not do.  He stretched forth his unstretchable hand and acted his faith.

That’s all it takes for a miracle.  Two simple steps.

There is great power where you are today.

Tap into it by rejoicing in your heart and acting like what you need is already yours.

“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and DO THOSE THINGS THAT ARE PLEASING IN HIS SIGHT. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” (1John 3:22,23)

If you have not made Jesus, the Prophet, the Lord of your life just say, “Jesus, You’re my choice.” (Romans 10:13)

If there is someone who has wronged you, God wants you to forgive them so that He can forgive you. (Mark 11:25)  If you will forgive them, you can rejoice because you are about to receive your miracle.

Rejoice.  Do something you couldn’t do before.  Act like it’s true because it is.
