Satanic Harassment
What You Can Definitely
Do About It!
by Pastor John &
Barbara Hamel
A man out of the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought my
mute son, made speechless by a demon, to you. Whenever it seizes him, it
throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and goes
stiff as a board… When the demon saw Jesus, it threw the boy into a
seizure, causing him to writhe on the ground and foam at the mouth… Jesus
gave the vile spirit its marching orders: "Dumb and deaf spirit, I
command you—Out of him, and stay out!" Screaming, and with much
thrashing about, it left. The boy was pale as a corpse, so people started
saying, "He's dead." But Jesus, taking his hand, raised him. The
boy stood up. (Mark 9:17-27, Message
Bible)
I’d like to tell you about two universal powers. There are
actually three universal powers but we will address
only two in this lesson. First there
is the power of God, which is the power of good. Then there is the power of Satan, which
is the power of evil. The power of God
is stronger than even the greatest concentration of Satan’s evil.
In the above Scripture we find Jesus setting a young boy free
from Satan’s evil power as easily as an apple falls from a tree. All Believers in Jesus Christ have this
very same power over Satan and evil spirits. This is what Jesus taught.
“Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the
works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12)
Here Jesus makes it clear that even as He cast out evil
spirits, all Believers can cast out evil spirits. Let’s look at something else Jesus
said.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in My name
shall they cast out demons …” (Mark 16:17)
What could be clearer?
Jesus said it is not always necessary for the Christian to find a
Minister to help when they are being harassed by evil spirits. Jesus said Satan and demon spirits will
obey any Believer who uses His strong Name
and tells them to stop the harassment.
James, the younger brother of Jesus, grew up in the same house
with Him and learned this principle from his older brother firsthand. So, let’s look at something James taught
in the Bible.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.” (James 4:7)
The Bible teaching on the Believer’s authority over Satan and
demon spirits cannot be denied. Any
Believer who submits to God can break Satan’s power
off of themselves or their loved ones.
“So how do I do that?” you’re probably wondering. It’s easy. Speak the following directly to Satan and
demon powers and say it like you mean business.
“In Jesus’ strong Name,
I address you, Satan, and all evil spirits.
I command your hold on myself and my loved ones to be broken. Go from us now in Jesus’ Name. Not in my name do I address you. I address you in the Name of Jesus Christ
and you must obey me. Now go.”
It’s just that simple.
Now hold steady and expect good results. Don’t give the above faith command
again. Believe what you said. Simply remind Satan that you’ve broken
his power and he has no choice but to go.
At first he might test you, trying you on for size, so to speak,
sticking around for awhile. Don’t
let him fool you. Continue to
believe. Keep thanking God out loud
that His power is working on your behalf.
It may take a few days, maybe a few weeks to see results, but if
you’ll continue to believe things will change dramatically. Satan just needs to know you won’t back
off.
Oh, yes, make sure there’s no sin in your
life. Satan knows he doesn’t have to
obey those who are obeying him.
Also, if there is someone you need to forgive, you will want to do
that right away. Sin and
unforgiveness block the spout where the power of God comes out. Faith works
only as we walk in love towards others even as God walks in love towards us. (Galatians 5:6; Mark
11:25)
Keep expecting. Things
are changing behind the scenes even though you may not see it at
first. Let me remind you again. Don’t be fooled
if you don’t see results immediately.
The Angels of God
have gone to work on your behalf, the power of
Satan has been broken. Jesus is Lord and God is making a way
to glorify Himself in your situation.
Remember, all things are possible if only you believe. (Luke 1:37)
